News / Bailed on assault charges

A SIXTY two year old man appeared from custody in private at Lerwick Sheriff Court on Friday on a petition alleging a total of 14 charges including six of assault and three of assault to injury.

 Robert Simmons, of mainland Shetland, is also facing one charge of abduction and four charges of behaving in a threatening or abusive manner.

He made no plea and was committed for further examination before being released on bail.
