News / Inksters raise thousands for isles branch of heart charity

AN AWARD-winning law firm with a strong Shetland connection has raised thousands to fund lifesaving heart research by holding a ‘Big Shetland Winter Raffle’. 

The Glasgow-based company, which has offices throughout Scotland, have raised £2,118 for the Shetland branch of the British Heart Foundation (BHF). 

The top Shetland prize-winners were:

1st – Weekend in Aberdeen for two (flights + hotel) – Aimee Keith, Aith

2nd – Northlink Ferries – Return travel for two (car and cabin) – Margaret Smith, Whiteness

3rd – Overnight B&B at Busta House for two – Steven Hunter, Scalloway

Top prize winner Aimee said she was “absolutely delighted to win such a great prize” and is “looking forward to enjoying it at the end of the year for a Christmas shopping trip.”

Founder of Inksters and Scalloway man Brian Inkster said: “We would like to thank everyone who donated prizes and bought tickets for our Big Shetland Winter Raffle. The support and generosity shown by people in Shetland has been fantastic. We are delighted with the amount raised and to have been able to support such a good cause.”

The law firm provide specialist and niche legal assistance within its wide portfolio of services and work across Scotland in Glasgow, Forfar, Inverness, Wick, Lerwick and Portree. It has also placed staff on heart first aid and defibrillator training courses with the help of the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service.
