News / Drove while disqualified
A SIXTY year old man from Burra has been released on bail after pleading guilty to a charge of driving while disqualified when he appeared from custody at Lerwick Sheriff Court on Monday.
James Fullerton, of Atlaness, Hamnavoe also admitted driving without insurance. Both offences took place at Scalloway’s New Road.
Fullerton was stopped by police during a routine check on Friday evening. Procurator fiscal Duncan Macklenzie said Fullerton was clearly in contempt of a court order as he had driven some distance to a shop in Scalloway.
Sentence was deferred until 15 March for a social inquiry report.
