News / Comedian bound for Brae
A CAMBRIDGE-basedstorytelling comedian is taking his one-man show to Shetland early next month.
Paul Richards hits the road on Sunday for a 13-date tour culminating in a performance at Brae Hotel on Friday 3 March.
He describes his “One Man and a Box” show as a “lively 90 minutes of a lanky 35-year-old man hitting a cajon [a small wooden box] whilst telling jokes and stories”.
Richards said he was “fairly experienced” having taken 14 shows – including four solo stand-up pieces – to the Edinburgh Fringe, with “One Man and a Box” to be performed there in August.
“However, this tour is a little different in the sense that I’ll be doing the whole run by public transport,” he said. “The tour starts on the Isle of Portland [in Dorset] and ends 13 days later on the Shetland Islands.
“I’m still not entirely sure how it’ll work out, but I’m looking forward to the adventure of it all and [it] is a nice departure from my … more regular way of touring.”
