News / Shetland’s triple success at regional press awards

THE QUALITY of Shetland journalism was again recognised at the Highlands and Islands Media Awards as two local nominees won prizes at this year’s event.

The Shetland Times beat off competition from The Orcadian and The Strathspey and Badenoch Herald to win the newspaper of the year award at the Inverness ceremony on Friday night.

The paper also reigned in the best use of digital media category.

BBC Radio Shetland’s Daniel Lawson, meanwhile, won the young journalist of the year award.
