News / Bailed on assault charges
A WOMAN appeared from custody at Lerwick Sheriff Court on Monday accused of assaulting two people in a town centre pub at the weekend.
Ellen Birrell, of Lerwick’s North Road, was charged with assaulting her former partner at Da Wheel Bar on Saturday by repeatedly striking him on the head with her hands and scratching him on the face and neck.
The 19 year old was also accused of assaulting another man at the same location on the same date by repeatedly striking him on the head with her hands.
The case was continued without plea until 15 February, with Birrell released on bail.
As part of her bail conditions, the teenager must not enter Da Wheel Bar or approach or contact the two complainers.
