THE MAIN road in the south of Shetland was partially blocked on Thursday morning after a two-vehicle car accident.

One lane of the A970 at the Scatness junction in Virkie was closed after the collision, which occurred at around 8.10am and did not result in any injuries.

Police said at 9.30am that the vehicles were due to be removed and confirmed that the road would be fully opened again “very soon”.
