BELL’s Brae Primary School has been given £12,000 from Tesco’s Bags of Help scheme for an active living initiative.
Locals voted in the Lerwick supermarket over the last few weeks which community projects should receive money from the funding initiative that distributes cash collected from the 5p plastic bag levy.
Lerwick’s Bell’s Brae school came first for its Get Outside, Get Active scheme and staff thanked those who took the time to vote.
Aith Junior High School parent council came in second place and received £10,000 for its community playground project.
In third place was the Skeld Waterfront Development Trust, which was given £8,000 for play park equipment.
