News / Car destroyed by fire in Yell

A CAR was completely destroyed by fire in the early hours of Thursday morning in Mid Yell.

The island’s firefighters were called out at around 2.50am, with two hose reel jets and two breathing apparatuses used.

Police said they believed the fire was the result of an electrical fault and that it doesn’t appear to be suspicious.

Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said the blaze, which destroyed the car, happened at Hildasay.
