News / Aith lifeboat called out

THE AITH lifeboat was called out on Sunday morning to assist a cargo vessel which had broken down.

The lifeboat was tasked at 11.25am to help the Netherlands registered Eems Star, which had just departed Scalloway.

After being towed, the vessel managed to restart its engines. The lifeboat stayed near the Eems Star incase it had further breakdowns.
