News / Man denies seizing and striking his partner
A TWENTY nine year old man has been granted bail after denying assaulting his partner in Shetland at the weekend.
Edvardas Pigu, of Sandveien, Lerwick, is accused of seizing the woman by the throat, pushing her back by the throat and repeatedly striking her on the body to her injury on Sunday.
He pleaded not guilty and was bailed to an address in Lerwick’s Gremmisgaet. A special condition was attached that he must not approach the complainer.
Pigu is due to face trial on 27 October with an intermediate diet on 11 October.
