News / Beatty case deserted

Following three days into a jury trial at Lerwick Sheriff Court, the case against North Roe man Basil Edward Beatty, who was facing serious sexual charges, has been deserted for the time being.

In a statement the Crown Office said on Thursday that the case was deserted ‘pro loco et tempore’ the previous day due to issues outwith the Crown’s control
