SHETLAND’S footballers and hockey players lost to their Orkney rivals as the inter-county teams went head-to-head on Saturday.

The football team lost 3-2 as home side Orkney won back the Milne Cup following Shetland’s domination of the fixture last year.

Paul Molloy opened the scoring after half-time before Orkney hit back with goals in quick succession.

Josie Kay grabbed another goal for Shetland, but it was too little too late.

In the hockey, Shetland went down 6-2, with Nicola Johnston and Nicola Balfour getting on the scoresheet.

Orkney have now won the Lady Hamilton Cup 13 times in a row.
