A FAULTY transformer caused a power cut in Heylor that lasted for over three hours on Wednesday evening.

A total of 16 customers lost electricity at around 6pm, with electricity restored by 9.15pm.

Scottish and Southern Energy replaced the transformer and issued an apology for any inconvenience caused.

The power cut came on the same day a transformer also failed on Skerries, leading to all 59 customers losing power for a number of hours.
