News / Dog dies after cliff fall
FOUR coastguard teams from across Shetland were tasked on Tuesday morning after reports of a dog falling off a cliff on the west side.
Crews from Lerwick, Walls, Sumburgh and Hillswick were activated at around 10am to search for the animal near the bay of Deepdale and perform a rope rescue.
Sadly, the dog – which had been missing from the day before – was already dead by the time the coastguard arrived.
