News / Charged with biting partner
A TWENTY four year old woman charged with assaulting her partner by biting him on the head has been granted bail after appearing at Lerwick Sheriff Court.
Jodie Leask, of 38 Hoofields, Lerwick, had her case continued without plea until 20 July when she appeared on Tuesday afternoon.
She is charged with assaulting the man at her home address on Monday. She is also accused of behaving in a threatening or abusive manner by shouting, swearing, uttering offensive remarks, throwing items about and behaving aggressively.
Leask reluctantly accepted that special conditions be attached to her bail – that she must not directly approach the complainer and must stay away from his address.
Defence agent Tommy Allan said his client was in an “extremely vulnerable state” and had a problematic addiction to so-called legal highs.
Procurator fiscal Duncan Mackenzie insisted the couple must be kept apart to give their neighbours “a bit of respite”. “Put bluntly, the pair of them are simply a menace,” he said.
