News / Charged over disturbance

A THIRTY eight year old man has appeared in court charged with causing a disturbance at two addresses in Sandwick on Saturday.

Benedict Gray, whose address was given as 57a Burgh Road, Lerwick, had his case continued without plea until 20 July at Lerwick Sheriff Court on Monday afternoon.

He is charged with behaving in a threatening or abusive manner likely to cause fear or alarm at Parkland, Sandwick and Braefield Cottage, Stove by repeatedly shouting, swearing, and striking the doors and windows of the latter with excessive force.

Gray is also accused of having uttered threats to damage property.

He was granted bail with the special condition that he must not approach two women, one of whom is his wife.
