News / Dangerous overtaking

POLICE are appealing for witnesses after the driver of a black BMW carried out a dangerous overtake, causing a vehicle coming in the opposite direction to perform an emergency stop to avoid a collision, on Sunday.

The incident occurred at around 5.10pm on the A970 between the Skord, Scalloway and the Brig o Fitch, Tingwall. The vehicle is said to have overtaken a number of vehicles.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Lerwick Police Station by dialling 101 or by phoning Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
