A FISHERMAN is in hospital after falling into the water from the fishing boat King Challenger, southwest of Scalloway, on Thursday morning.
Shetland Coastguard was alerted to the incident at 9.50am and immediately sent the search and rescue helicopter to assist.
The crew of the Ballantrae registered scalloper meanwhile managed to retrieve the man from the water.
He was then airlifted to the Clickimin landing site, in Lerwick, from where he was taken to the Gilbert Bain Hospital.
His condition is not known.
