News / Vodafone fixes problem
A HARDWARE fault with a mobile phone mast left many Vodafone customers in and around Brae without signal for almost a fortnight before the problem was resolved on Friday.
The company said the service had been knocked out for several days beginning on 30 May, with a delay in restoring signal caused by waiting for replacement hardware to fix the problem at its site.
On Monday a Vodafone spokeswoman said she could “confirm all work has been completed at the site has been online and running since 9am on 10 June”
Asked if customers would be entitled to any compensation, the spokeswoman responded by saying that it could not guarantee a “completely fault-free service” due to the natural of mobile communications technology.
“However,” she said, “we will always look sympathetically at a request for reimbursement of rental if a customer has been unable to use any of our services due to a network failure caused by us, or planned work to improve a local mast.”
