News / Comic confirms Lerwick gig

Comedian Russell Kane is heading to Shetland in October.

A POPULAR comedian is heading to Shetland later this year to perform a gig in Lerwick.

Russell Kane, who has featured on TV shows such as Live At The Apollo and Celebrity Juice, will appear at Clickimin Leisure Complex’s bowls hall on 19 October.

He will head to the isles for the first time as part of his Right Man, Wrong Age stand-up tour, which explores the issue of “growing up and growing down”.

Kane is also currently starring on the BBC series Stupid Man, Smart Phone, while he has hosted BBC3’s Live At The Electric.

The English comedian, writer and actor previously made history by winning both the Edinburgh Award and Melbourne Comedy Festival’s Barry Award in the same year.

The news comes just days after the same promoter Beyond Presents confirmed that fellow comedian Seann Walsh will perform two stand-up dates in Shetland in September.

Tickets for Russell Kane’s Lerwick show are on sale now via Shetland Box Office.
