AN UNEMPLOYED man who stole a television from caravan in Sandwick while he was living there last year has been jailed for five months.
At Lerwick Sheriff Court on Wednesday, Wesley Bailey, formerly of Room 1, Skerpalea, Sandwick, admitted taking the TV from outside a house some time between 12 and 14 September.
Procurator fiscal Duncan Mackenzie said suspicion fell on the 35 year old after the theft of the TV, which was was worth £235 and was later recovered by the police.
Defence agent Tommy Allan said his client, who has now moved to Aberdeen, had fallen in with the “wrong crowd” at the time, and was with another man when he committed the crime.
Sheriff Philip Mann said that Bailey’s history of thefts persuaded him to send him to jail for five months.
