News / Quad driver in court
A FIFTY one year old who admitted driving a quad bike on a public road without a licence during a trip to his croft will learn his fate next week.
David William Anderson, of New House, Scousburgh, appeared from custody at Lerwick Sheriff Court on Wednesday to plead guilty to using the unregistered vehicle on a road adjacent to the Spiggie Hotel on 5 April while disqualified and without insurance.
Procurator fiscal Duncan Mackenzie said the incident happened at around 7.10am after police were tipped off that Anderson was using the quad without a licence.
Honorary sheriff Willie Shannon decided to defer sentence until 13 April and released Anderson on bail.
