News / O2 network down in Lerwick
CUSTOMERS on the O2 network in Lerwick have been without signal since Saturday due to an equipment breakdown.
A company spokesman said its third party supplier’s engineer had discovered that some equipment forming part of its Lerwick mast needed replacing.
The parts have been ordered and are being sent from the UK mainland – but in the meantime some O2 customers have had no signal for three days.
“We are working to restore service as quickly as possible and apologise for any inconvenience,” a company spokesman said.
He added that customers left without service were able to access its “O2 TU Go” service, enabling them to make and receive calls and texts using a wifi connection. More information is online at www.o2.co.uk/apps/tu-go.
