News / Hammer brandished
A SCALLOWAY man who brandished a hammer at a bus stop in Lerwick in February must wait until the end of this month to be sentenced.
On Friday at Lerwick Sheriff Court the trial of Adam Nelson was abandoned after the 27 year old, who lives at 17 Undirhoul, pled guilty to breaching the peace.
The court heard that Nelson frightened a man waiting beside him at the bus stop on King Harald Street when he took the hammer out of his pocket on 5 February.
Nelson, who had been held on remand for five weeks following the incident, was released on bail until 27 April for background reports to be prepared.
