NEARLY 30 properties in Unst are without power as a result of a burning pole and broken conductor.

SSE confirmed that 26 customers near West Park lost electricity at around 10.20pm on Wednesday.

Power is expected to be restored by 2pm on Thursday, with SSE due to then start an investigation into the cause of the problems.
