AN ELDERLY man was taken to hospital with injuries to his pelvis after he was struck by a car near Lerwick’s Market Cross, on Monday.

Police are appealing for witnesses who may have seen the accident, which happened at about 5.30pm.

A spokesman said: “Any members of the public who have witnessed the incident or have any relevant information are requested to contact Police Scotland at Lerwick using the 101 phone number.”
