News / Hunt for missing Lerwick man

Lerwick chef David Brown was last seen on Wednesday afternoon, thought to be leaving Shetland on the ferry riding his red BMW motorbike.

POLICE have launched a nationwide search for a 68 year old chef from Lerwick Hotel who went missing this week.

David Brown was last seen by a friend in Shetland around 2.30pm on Wednesday 2 March.

Police say they think he travelled to Aberdeen on the NorthLink ferry on his red BMW motorbike and may have continued to Cornwall or Devon.

Brown is 5’7” tall, of average build with short greying hair. He wears biker clothing and speaks with a southern English accent.

Anyone who has seen him or has any knowledge of his whereabouts is asked to contact the police “as a matter of urgency”.

The police can be contacted on 101 or anonymously on Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or online at http://www.crimestoppers-uk.org/.

Police assured potential informants that no personal details would be taken, information would not be traced or recorded and they would not go to court.
