News / More seats at 50 quid
LOGANAIR is increasing the capacity on its Sumburgh to Aberdeen service by almost 20 percent through the use of larger aircrafts.
From the end of March the airline will operate four services per day between Shetland and the Granite City apart from Fridays, when there will be three flights.
During weekdays the scheduled flights will be serviced by the larger Saab 2000, which can carry up to 50 passengers.
Loganair said that thanks to the state-funded air discount scheme (ADS) more than a quarter of tickets would be available for less than £50 one way, with the lowest ADS fare at £38.04 when booked online.
The airline’s summer schedule runs from 27 March to 29 October.
Loganair’s director of revenue & scheduling, Roy Bogle, said: “With around a quarter of this year’s tickets under £50 for ADS cardholders and a journey time of one hour and ten minutes, this really is the most economical way to travel to the mainland from Shetland.”
