POLICE in Lerwick are appealing for witnesses to come forward after a pensioner was threatened by a young man holding an offensive weapon, late on Friday afternoon.
Constable Malcolm Macleod said the pensioners had been left in fear and alarm after being approached by a man in his early 20s at a bus stop on King Harold Street, near the British Legion, at around 5.20pm.
The man is described as six feet tall, slim built, wearing a light blue hoodie or jacket with grey cotton jogging bottoms.
He also had a white earpiece in his ear and has a distinctive large tribal tattoo on the left side of his neck.
The constable said: “Any information relating to this incident or knowledge of the perpetrator would be very much appreciated.”
