THE WHALSAY ferry Linga is back in action on Thursday afternoon, Shetland Islands Council has just said.

Engineers completed repairs and the boat has been inspected and gone through sea trials ready to return to service running from Symbister at 12.45pm.

This means the route will return to normal service with the Hendra sailing from Laxo at the same time.
 
Shetland Islands Council apologised to ferry users affected by the disruption.
