News / Couper locked up
ONE of Shetland’s more frequent offenders has been locked up over the New Year after appearing from custody at Lerwick Sheriff Court on Thursday charged with breaching a court order.
On 25 November Sheriff Philip Mann ordered Couper, of Tarland, Lerwick, to carry out 250 hours of unpaid work for the assault.
The sheriff imposed a non-harassment order telling Couper to make no contact with his victim for two years.
However police arrested him on Wednesday and charged him with entering the woman’s house without being invited and refusing to leave.
The case was continued without plea until 7 January until when he was remanded in custody.
