News / Latest on ferry sailings
THE STORMY end to the year is resulting in disruptions to NorthLink’s ferry service with the warnings of cancellations for the middle of the week.
Monday’s southbound sailing will now depart Lerwick at the earlier time of midday and head directly for Aberdeen without calling at Kirkwall.
Heading into a southerly gale, the Hrossey is expected to take 24 hours to reach the Granite City.
Meanwhile, her sister vessel Hjaltland is now scheduled to depart Aberdeen at the later time of midnight with an estimated time of arrival in Lerwick of 1pm on Tuesday.
Check-in time will remain as timetabled at between 5pm and 6.30pm.
NorthLink said that its service for Tuesday night was currently under review with the possibility of cancellations for both passenger vessels.
