News / Ferries sail earlier
LIFELINE ferry operator NorthLink is again making changes to its timetable to dodge the worst of Friday night’s southwesterly gales.
Friday’s northbound sailing of the Hjaltland will now depart from Aberdeen at midday, seven hours earlier than scheduled, in the hope to reach Lerwick by midnight. Check-in is between 11 and 11.30am.
Meanwhile the southbound Hrossey is expected to depart Lerwick for Kirkwall at the earlier time of 3pm.
Estimated time of arrival in Aberdeen is 7am on Saturday.
Friday’s scheduled sailings of both freight vessels are currently under review.
