News / Ex whalers raising cash

Laureen Fraser and James Smith of the Shetland ex-Whalers Association present the £862 cheque to Joyce Henderson and Eleanor Robertson of Disability Shetland.

THE SHETLAND Ex Whalers Association raised more than £860 for local charity Disability Shetland during their Sunday teas at Whiteness and Weisdale hall recently.

The teas were held to mark the publication of a new book by Laura Johnson about the history of the local whalers, Shetland’s Whaling Tradition – from Willafjord to Enderby Land.
