News / SEPA issues flood alert
SEPA has issued an ‘amber’ flood alert for Shetland – with the “greatest risk” at midnight on Monday, which is the time of high water.
The environmental agency said the alert related to the danger of coastal flooding due to a combination of strong or gale force winds combined with a high tide – leading to a risk of flooding from waves and spray overtopping.
Advice and information is available through SEPA’s bloodline on 0345 9881188.
