News / Blow on beach
A man from the north east of England has admitted knocking a man unconscious on a Lerwick beach.
At Lerwick Sheriff Court on Wednesday 30 year old Jamie Hand, of 153 Pallister Avenue, Middlesbrough, pled guilty to punching the man on Bain’s Beach on 25 January.
The punch was so hard that his victim fell unconscious to the ground, and was left seriously injured and permanently disfigured.
The court heard that Hand was acting with another man whose identity remains unknown.
Sheriff Mark Thorley ordered background reports to be prepared ahead of sentencing on 9 December.
