News / Two men denied bail
TWO men will spend the next week behind bars after appearing from custody at Lerwick Sheriff Court on separate disturbance charges on Monday afternoon.
Nineteen year old Mark Rushby, of 5 Ladies Drive, Lerwick, is charged with behaving in a threatening or abusive manner by shouting and swearing at his partner, throwing items around and smashing a window and a television at their home on Sunday.
Rushby’s case was continued without plea until 26 October and he was remanded in custody by honorary sheriff Sandy Cluness.
Oliver Tait, 44, of 19 Lingaro, Bixter, is also accused of behaving in a threatening or abusive manner last Thursday.
He is accused of attending his former partner’s address in Lerwick’s Thorfinn Street and speaking to her in the knowledge that he was breaching an interdict, and of then loitering near the same address.
Tait’s case was also continued without plea until 26 October and he was remanded in custody.
