News / Human rights consultation
THE SCOTTISH Human Rights Commission is set to hold a consultation in Shetland next month to discuss its priorities for the next five years.
The organisation is hosting a series of public events across Scotland in November to discuss its strategic plan for 2016-2020.
The Shetland Museum and Archives is set to host one of the consultations on 24 November between 2pm and 5pm.
The commission say they “want to hear from people and organisations from across Scotland’s diverse communities” as they plan for the years ahead.
Other consultations will take place in Aberdeen, Galashiels and Clydebank.
The events will talk about the role and powers of the organisation, as well as its achievements so far.
The commission is an “independent public body with a broad remit to protect and promote human rights for everyone in Scotland”.
Those interested in attending the Lerwick consultation should register here.
