A MAN suffering from a skin infection was airlifted to Lerwick’s Gilbert Bain Hospital from the Thistle Alpha platform on Saturday night.

The oil worker was taken from the platform, 125 miles northeast of Sumburgh, at around 9pm by the search and rescue helicopter 900.
