TWO men from the north east of England have pled guilty at Lerwick Sheriff Court to perverting the course of justice.
Twenty nine year old David Francis from County Durham admitted giving a false name to police at the Northlink ferry terminal in Lerwick on 17 September.
Thirty year old John Thompson from Newcastle Upon Tyne admitted giving a false name whilst on bail.
Thompson also pled guilty to failing to allow an external and internal medical examination to provoke a bowel movement at the Gilbert Bain Hospital with the intent to defeat the ends of justice and committing the offence on bail.
Sentence was deferred on both men until the next Wednesday and they were both remanded in custody.
Both men were initially remanded in custody after appearing in private at Lerwick Sheriff Court last Friday.
