News / Young driver banned
A YOUNG Lerwick man has been banned from driving for 16 months for driving while under the influence of drink or drugs.
Sean McLaren, of 34C Ladies Drive, pled guilty to the offence near his home the previous evening when he appeared from custody at Lerwick Sheriff Court on Friday.
The 21 year old also admitted failing to provide two breath specimens at Lerwick police station after his arrest.
Honorary sheriff Arnold Duncan fined McLaren £800 and told him he could shorten his driving ban by four months if he attended a drink drivers awareness course.
