News / Waxing for charity

LIVING Lerwick’s Shopping Week kicks off on Saturday with local police officers getting their legs waxed in the name of charity.

A number of coppers will endure the experience outside the Boots store in Lerwick at 2pm on Saturday.

They will raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support, with the public invited to donate in the lead up to the event as well as on the day.

The waxing is part of Living Lerwick’s Shopping Week, which will kick off on Saturday.

A host of events are planned in the town through to its final day on 17 July.

Live music will take place at Harrison Square throughout the week, whilst J G Rae Ltd, Shetland Soap Company, Ninan and N-Graved will give customers an inside look into how their products are made.

There will also be in-store promotions throughout the whole week in a range of Lerwick shops.
