SHETLAND ARTS are inviting the public to have their say on how visual art and craft should be developed in the isles.
The organisation is holding a meeting between 6-7pm on Tuesday 14 July at Lerwick’s Garrison Theatre to open discussions on how art and crafts in Shetland can be best served.
Another meeting will be held at Global Yell, in Sellafirth, on Thursday 16 July, also at 6-7pm.
The public engagement follows consultations held earlier this year about how theatre should be delivered in the isles.
Further discussions about music, film, literature and arts will follow over the next year.
Shetland Arts general manager Graeme Howell said that the consultation into theatre was “very productive” and that they were eager to branch this out into different fields.
“These meetings are the ideal opportunity for anyone with an interest in visual art and craft, whether they be professional practitioners, enthusiastic amateurs or consumers to have their say about what they feel the priorities for its ongoing development should be,” he added.
“This is a real chance to influence how Shetland Arts should be prioritising its investment and support.”
