Meanwhile, a 23 year old from Scalloway was given a £200 fine and three penalty points after he admitted driving a van without due care and attention at Lewick’s King Harald Street on 7 December last year.

Lerwick Sheriff Court heard on Wednesday that pipe fitter Douglas Jack, of Berg En Dal, East Voe, came across his ex-girlfriend in a car with her ex-partner.

He overtook the vehicle in an attempt to stop the car, causing them to brake abruptly.

Jack also admitted making threats in what was described by defence agent Gregor Kelly as an act of “personal vendetta”.
