TWO troublesome teenage twins from Lerwick have been ordered to undertake nearly 400 hours of unpaid work between them after committing a string of offences.
Lee and Drew Hamilton, of 89 St Olaf St, were also placed under supervision for 18 months at Lerwick Sheriff Court on Wednesday.
Lee, who admitted struggling violently with two police officers at Lerwick’s Tesco supermarket on 3 January, racked up a total of 240 hours of unpaid work.
He also admitted refusing to switch off his TV and Xbox games console at his home on 18 February, despite being asked to do so by the police as it was annoying the neighbours.
Both 19 year olds had previously pled guilty to breaching the peace by shouting, swearing and struggling with the police at home that day.
They both had also admitted stealing two bottles of vodka at the town’s Co-op supermarket on 23 April whilst on bail, and failing to appear in court on 13 May.
Drew Hamilton received 130 hours of unpaid work for his part in those offences.
Meanwhile the brothers will stand trial on 15 October after denying they attacked a woman at an address in Lerwick’s Sandveien by repeatedly punching her on the head on 10 May while on bail.
