News / Scalloway bags cash

THE Scalloway Primary School Parent Council has received £250 towards a gardening project from money received via plastic bag charges. Environment charity Keep Scotland Beautiful have teamed up with Tesco to give 200 local groups across the country the award, which is funded from the 5p bag charge collected by the supermarket in Scotland since the levy was introduced last year.
