Letters / Intrigued
I am intrigued by Stuart Hill’s suggestion, within his recent letter (Sovereign Shetland; SN 23/4/15), where he states that a sovereign Shetland would bring about “interest-free loans and mortgages”.
Perhaps he could take time out, from his task of supplying free felt tip pens to all Shetland and Orkney voters, to elaborate exactly how these loans and mortgages would be funded.
The stated aim of having to pay “20 per cent less for goods and services” is perhaps plucked straight out of cloud cuckoo land.
