The trouble with Chris Mackie’s complaint (Posturing MSP; SN, 12/03/15) about the ‘tone’ of the schools debate is his own tone: epithets like ‘smugness’, ‘posturing’, ‘overblown’ come from the Daily Mail school of debating.
