Letters / Questions for Danus
For the benefit of Shetland electors unfamiliar with his views, I invite Danus Skene, prospective parliamentary candidate (SNP), to answer the following questions:
- Does he welcome the rejection of Sustainable Shetland’s appeal against the Scottish Government in the Viking Energy wind farm case?
- Will he be pressing the Scottish and UK governments to authorise the funding of the submarine cable required for the project?
- Does he think the closing of Shetland schools, while Shetland overpays tax (versus money received back) to the tune of over £80million per annum is acceptable?
- Does he think the interests of Shetland will be better served being part of Scotland, within the EU, with its immensely damaging effect on the Shetland fishing industry, or, by following the examples of Iceland and Faroe who have not joined and are self-governing?
